Around the Periphery of Moon Europa & the public events

Hey Everyone

This is a cool movie making group - even for Ashville

I first met tall Chris at the Westville Pub where they were having one of their pot film "fund raisers' and I donated the $20 asked, and got to talk to some people dedicated to community-based filmmaking

The party at the movie set was inspired too. You got to meet and talk with cast & crew while touring the fun-awesome "apartment set" they had created on the first floor of their loft space

The lead of the film, who photographs beautifully, was there to prove she was the source of the images people had come to associate with the long-duration production, online and in articles about the Moon Europa effort - in this case she was onthe cover of Mountain Express, just before the set-party

It was alway interesting to talk with Greg Hobbs I think his name is, the guy who filled in the producer role for the project and had developed the film demo website, which worked well to get and keep people interested in what they were doing

So yea & being a Kubrick fan and follower of 2001 there were echoes in the images and lighting of that classic film - so yea, for a sci-fi buff, ME had a liot of brain buzz, mind candy for the afficianado -

Don't know where they are with it now, haven't been in Asheville as much - last time I talked with Chris briefly on the phone he said there wasn;t a commercially-available CD done - as yet
I look forward to it, Chris, cast & crew, and the lovely lead, hope to run into you around Asheville again, as I did once at the West End Bakery - it was good to reconnect & get an update on the project from the insider point of view

The Moon project brought a cohesive sense f creative life to the downtown/Lexington and all around Asheville & the locations, and I hope we get to see the finished final film and any spinoffs from it, music or video, soon - there was an artistic vision here that, on its low budget, matched some more expensive productions done on the sound stages not at Blue Ridge but in the depths of Hollywood, where slickness is done for a lot of money, not always a similar dedication to goal.

Sorry - on first line above looks like I meant "pot film" and although many sci-films qualify in this category, I really meant "spot film" fund raisers, since they held them occasionally to get money in the coffers for more production
